In honor of Baby

In the hustle and bustle of things…

…life happens. And in this case it’s been exciting :) As I have said before, I got engaged last October. So, we are now starting to get into the full swing of things in terms of wedding planning. The dress is done, the cake is ordered, the flowers are ordered, etc. But in the time from Christmas cheeriness and business until now I’ve neglected my little Etsy shop.

The good news is, come October, my goal and my hope is to have Eyelet Sage Studio up and running again at full steam – if I haven’t lost too many of you already. I promise to be back, but in this busy time of wedding planning somethings had to give.

But don’t worry, I’m not giving up on it (haha…not that anyone was actually worried :) ) it’s just taking a breather. And with a future niece/nephew being born in a couple of weeks I’ve been seriously considering expanding ESS to include some baby cards and announcements :)

I promise, I will be back in time for the holidays :)

Sorry, I’ve been such a bad blogger recently, but wedding details have been taking up my brain when I have “free time.”

Caldrea samples

Do you want to know how awesome Caldrea is? Well, there are many reasons, but this one might actually sway me to purchase Caldrea products.

I was snooping around online and found out that if you contact Caldrea they will send you free samples. I was a bit skeptical because many places will claim that you get free samples but they never show up and if they do it’s in some corporate packaging and comes 6-8 weeks later.

BUT Caldrea proved me wrong! A few days after I sent the message, asking if they send new customer’s samples, I got a PERSONAL response asking for me to send my address. I did and TWO DAYS later I received a cute, hand addressed packaging full of dish soap samples of all their scents and one package of stain remover. I haven’t had a chance to use them yet, but I’m excited – especially when it’s from a company that ACTUALLY cares for customers.

Way to go Caldrea!

If I was rich…

I’d fill my home with prettily packaged products. It’s so much more calming and appealing to look at a package like this:

I just think that when it comes time to clean the house it would be a happier process with pretty (and all natural – no harsh chemical smells!) packaging.

Then again…maybe that’s just me!

A little off topic

So this isn’t Etsy or art related, but it is fun! If you could, please help my fiance and I out, we’re in a contest for Crate and Barrel (where we could win a gift card to start buying stuff for our future home!)

So I talked a little while back about starting a blog for my wedding planning. And, although it’s had a VERY (and I really do mean very) slow start, it’ll be better (hopefully) once my life gets back to a feasible routine.

(And also, if you’re wondering about where the name “My Grandmother’s Lace” comes from, it’s because I’m using a lot of my great-grandmothers lace (very old stuff!) for my wedding – it’ll be amazing, and a fun connection to my family, even though I never met her)

I’ve been itching to do this little shop feature because I LOVE the work. SS Woodcraft makes the most adorable wooden toys, that allows kids to pretend and play right along side their parents. I’ve always preferred simple toys to the flashy battery-powered ones that are so prevalent nowadays. ‘Tis the Season for Making Gingerbread

Not-so-surprisingly, the gingerbread cookies that I made right after Thanksgiving (2 batches, mind you) are completely gone! We’re going to be whipping up a couple more batches in the next few days so that we still have a bunch of our traditional yummy cookies for the rest of the Christmas season, which is disappearing much too quickly, if you ask me.

In honor of the gingerbread cookies, I scoured through some pages to bring you some mighty cute (and one very elegant) gingerbread.
